In today's highly competitive and rapidly changing business environment, organizations must adopt proactive management approaches to ensure long-term success. Strategic planning has become one of the most important managerial functions for guiding organizational growth, improving competitiveness, and achieving sustainable development. It enables organizations to define long-term objectives, allocate resources efficiently, anticipate market changes, and respond effectively to emerging opportunities and challenges. This review paper examines the role of strategic planning in promoting business growth and long-term sustainability. It discusses the strategic planning process, major planning models, leadership involvement, innovation, risk management, organizational performance, and sustainability practices. The paper also identifies common challenges affecting strategic planning implementation and provides recommendations for improving strategic decision-making. The findings indicate that organizations with effective strategic planning systems demonstrate stronger financial performance, improved operational efficiency, enhanced innovation capability, and greater resilience in dynamic business environments.
