Abstract
Business Process Automation (BPA) has become a strategic approach for organizations seeking to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, enhance productivity, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. Advances in digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA), cloud computing, machine learning, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, have enabled businesses to automate repetitive and rule-based processes across various functional areas. Automation not only improves operational performance but also enhances service quality, decision-making, and customer satisfaction. This review paper examines the role of Business Process Automation in improving operational efficiency by discussing automation technologies, implementation strategies, organizational benefits, leadership, workforce transformation, and future trends. It also highlights the challenges associated with BPA adoption and provides recommendations for successful implementation. The findings suggest that organizations integrating automation into their core operations achieve greater efficiency, improved resource utilization, higher accuracy, and stronger long-term organizational performance.
